Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

December 14 marked our 4th month living in Spain, and gives us a great opportunity to reflect on God’s goodness during these early days of our first term.

We start by saying that your faithfulness in prayer and giving make our lives as missionaries possible.  You share in each victory and triumph we experience.  This is the gift we are most thankful for as we enjoy "our first Spanish Christmas."

Our Story:  We landed on August 14.  We anticipated that our VISAs would take 4 months or more to come through.  They came in under 30 days – this is a miracle!  So, with VISAs in hand we began the process of residency here in Spain.  I am thrilled to report that after no less than 7 trips to the immigration offices, I HAVE my residency ID and permit.  The IDs for Dawn Marie and kids follow mine and will be ready in just 30 days.  THIS IS A HUGE VICTORY!

We are also rejoicing that our container of household goods arrived just in time for Thanksgiving, and which help to create an “at home” feeling as Dawn Marie weaves the decor into a sanctuary of home-iness.

The IMM Story:  International Media Ministry had it’s official “grand re-opening” open house on December 3, as we invited area pastors, missionaries, and others to come visit our temporary facilities that are now fully operational.

Regional director Greg and Sandy Mundis came and blessed us with a commissioning prayer as we committed the work of this new facility to the Lord.

The move from a 20 year history in Brussels, Belgium to Spain has required gigantic adjustments and an enormous expenditure of energy and funds.  The initial months required days of simply remodeling the interior of the facility (a home in Los Hueros) and unpacking and re-installing the editing and audio studios.

Our IMM team began in August with a review of Nehemiah and considered how the Lord accompanies the “rebuilding” of His purposes.  Now we rejoice that we are fully operational and continuing the work of producing video materials that are reaching people for Christ in dozens of nations, and are seen by over 68 million people every week!

The Church Story:  We are helping the formation of a national AG church called “El Hogar Cristiano."

Each weekend we assist the ministry team and will soon be hosting a home group in our house to help disciple new believers.

The needs in Spain are extraordinary.  Statistics suggest that there are less than 3 Christians for every 1000 in population.

We live in a small community, yet there is no evangelical church anywhere in the town.

Challenges we face:
Illness.  Several of us have battled various colds, flus, and infections. Our bodies are adjusting to the exposure to new germs and bacterias.

Budget.  Our account (250620) and personal funds were expended heavily through the costs of moving.

Faithfulness of God:
We are settled in a home.
Kids are settled in school.
We have received not only our VISAs but also our residency ID and permits..
We are integrating well into the culture and the church family.
