BREAKTHROUGHS

We’ve now been in Spain for just over 7 months.  We are serving on the team of International Media Ministries.  We also serve to help a growing national church in Alcalã de Henares, just east of Madrid.  No doubt, you have followed recent news about the terrorist activities in Madrid.  Our community was dramatically impacted as a majority of the commuters on the trains were from our area.

Leading Worship
Dawn Marie and I were asked to lead worship at the Madrid International Church on February 8th, and it was a real highlight.  It never ceases to amaze me to see before our eyes the “all nations” of Matt. 28 as people from Nigeria, Germany, Spain, the United States, Great Britain, Belgium, from the corners of the globe gathered together in one place to worship the Savior.  We enjoyed it richly.
We also lead worship in Spanish for the first time recently at our church in Alcalá.

 

 Residency
We are thrilled to report that every member of our family has received a residency ID which verifies our legal status in the country. 
This represents a lot of hours of working through the immigration process.  Thank the Lord. 

IMM
The work of IMM presses on as now our programs are being broadcast to over 70 million people every week.  I was particularly encourage by a report of the reach of our work in Romania where IMM programming is being broadcast on secular television, daily.

BURDENS

Due to the great expense of securing our Residency and due to the tremendous decline of the dollar, our missions account is for the first time in the “red.”  The loss in the exchange rate (dollar to Euro) has cost us 25% of our purchasing power in just 6 months.  Pledge support has been down as well.

We’re asking the Lord to:

  • Bless our supporting US churches as they strive to meet their missions pledges.
  • Help us secure new monthly church support in light of our increase costs as we continue our first term.
  • Provide special offerings that will supply the present $5000 shortfall in our account.

Here’s some ideas you might consider to help:

o  50/100 – Our need could be met if 50 individuals/churches gave an extra $100 this month.

o   Double-Dip – If each of our support team would send a double portion of there regular monthly pledge this month, our need would be met.  (ie- Instead of $10, send $20 this month; instead of $50, $100; etc)

o   2 in 1 – Even if you are not able to give an “extra” amount, but would be willing to give two months of your annual support now, (skip a month later) it could help our immediate cash flow crisis.
